Check out this amazing large scale renovation and extension project in Hamilton South that our team recently completed.

This home renovation was the client’s childhood home and the end result is just stunning! The owners brief was to create an open plan feel, modernise the home inside and out, update the pool surrounds, construct a single garage and a new covered outdoor entertaining space.

Everything about this home now oozes style thanks to the home owners great decorating taste and clever choice of quality finishes and fixtures. What started out as a typical 1950’s era home, now takes pride of place in the street and has been fully remodelled and extended to meet the young families’ needs.

There are so many great features in this home. The interior of the property underwent a huge transformation. The home now has a functional light filled open plan kitchen, living and dining space that connects the inside to the outside via a large set of stacker doors.

Let’s take a look inside…

Property Features

The dark painted front door instantly gives the home street appeal. We also love the contrast of the dark panelling against the crisp white walls in the study nook and on the front of the kitchen island bench.  Quality plumbing fixtures and fittings from Reece were installed throughout the home, with on trend black matte tapware chosen for the bathrooms and kitchens.

The black ceiling fans and modern lighting fixtures chosen by the owners throughout the home, were from Beacon Lighting and they compliment the home beautifully.

Another fantastic looking feature installed in several areas of the home, are the modern barn style doors! The colour choice, with the contrasting black metal tracks make a real statement in the kitchen area.

The same barn style door was also chosen for the main bedroom walk-in wardrobe.

The bathrooms were both replaced. The stand-out feature in those rooms, is definitely the beautiful natural timber bathroom vanities. The timber looks amazing and adds a lovely warmth to the room against the cool modern white and grey tones.

The flooring in the main living areas and hallways was replaced with a hard wearing engineered timber flooring called Palazzo. New carpets in a dark charcoal tone were installed in all of the bedrooms for comfort underfoot.

To the rear of the property, we added a raised timber deck using spotted gum timber. Weathertex panelling was installed and painted in a mid grey tone to add some more visual appeal.

We added decorative features on the front façade of the home. New timber fretwork was installed on the gables and the entire outside of the property was repainted in modern grey and white tones. New dark brickwork was also installed to the verandah area and a set of spotted gum timber stairs lead to the new decking to complete the look.

A single carport to the side of the property was removed to make way for the new single garage. A Tuscan Woodgrain finish panel glide automatic door in Basalt was installed by Macquarie Garage Doors to match the colorbond roof and guttering. James Hardie Primline Newport cladding was installed on the exterior of the home and the old metal roof and guttering was all replaced.

To the rear of the property we created a raised alfresco outdoor living space. This area is complete with a new spotted gum timber deck with stairs leading down to the newly renovated pool area. Black fans were installed in the entertaining space for comfort during the warmer months of the year.

To complete the look of the rear exterior of the home, a new glass balustrade and pool fencing was installed using black fittings to tie in with the rest of the home. In the pool area, the paving was replaced with stunning Indiana White Limestone. The limestone is a great choice, as it stays cool underfoot during the warmer months of the year.

The new raised outdoor space is positioned perfectly to watch the children swimming and is a great functional space for family and friends to relax year round.
