This home renovation has come up a treat! Amaze Building were given the job of renovating this charming three bedroom home situated in the Maitland suburb of Lorn. The suburb is well known by locals for its lovely period homes and this newly renovated heritage home blends perfectly into the streetscape.

To retain some of the original character of the home and meet heritage listing requirements, the shingle style external wall cladding on the front façade was retained and the leadlight stained glass highlight above the entrance door. As part of the renovation work, the original roof was also replaced with a new colorbond roof, along with the bullnose verandah helping to return the home to its original glory.

The product choices and colour scheme complement each other very well and the fresh white walls are the perfect backdrop for the newly laid blackbutt timber floors which were secret nailed.

We love the choice of light fittings and fixtures that the home owners have chosen for their home. The light fixtures used on the front of the home really suit the period of the home and it was a pleasure to bring Lauren and Phil’s vision to life.

Smart design ideas were used throughout the home to help maximise use of space.  The new light filled ensuite bathroom is very cleverly concealed behind the wall of custom wardrobe cabinetry in the main bedroom and the laundry tub and washing machine are also hidden behind new cabinetry for a more streamlined look.

Design elements such as the exposed brickwork and the beautiful hardwood timber beams in the kitchen and main living space work perfectly in the open plan spaces and the feature pendant light fitting above the dining table adds some additional character to the room.

The bathrooms are a great size.  Lots of space and natural light in both the ensuite and main bathroom. The main bathroom features a large back to wall bathtub, a dark vanity which brings out the darker grout on the white subway wall tiles. With quality paramount at Amaze Building, all the bathroom fixtures have been carefully selected from Reece Bathrooms.

The ensuite bathroom has a gorgeous feature floor tile in teal and white with white subway wall tiles which reflect the light in the space.

The spacious new kitchen has shaker style white cabinetry with a 20mm stone benchtop. There is an abundance of natural light entering the room through clever placement of windows, including a stunning double servery window to the back deck.  Your eye is immediately drawn to the light teal subway tiled splashback and the 900mm black oven.

When it comes to the backyard, we constructed a new outdoor entertaining space complete with silvertop ash hardwood timber deck and privacy screen.  The area is a great size and when the sliding doors are open there is a great flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
