If you love hamptons style homes – you will love this renovation and extension project we recently completed. Get ready to be inspired….

We had the pleasure of renovating and extending this gorgeous home which is situated within the leafy suburb of New Lambton Heights in Newcastle.  Working closely with home owners Donna & Darren throughout the entire building process, we were pleased to be able to deliver them their dream home.

When you step into the dining and kitchen space of this home, you can tell that the home owners are big fans of hamptons styling. They have done a fantastic job of selecting building products and decorator items to create a relaxed coastal look and feel throughout the home.

Property Features

A new kitchen was installed with white shaker style cabinetry, a herringbone tiled splashback and a beautiful Caesarstone benchtop in Cosmopolitan White. To complete the hamptons look, a freestanding buffet sits in the dining space alongside the dining table.  The three (3) clear glass pendant lights that hang over the island bench were sourced from online store Fat Shack Vintage and they balance the room beautifully.

As you can see from the images, the home owners have not spared any expense on this property when it comes to building products, furniture or styling, – artworks and decorator pieces have been carefully selected to create a hamptons coastal vibe in each room. Furniture pieces such as the cane breakfast bar stools, combined with the large solid timber dining table and fabric covered dining chairs are just perfect for this space! Classic white on white tones are used throughout the home, along with coastal beach themed artworks and touches of blue hues and navy.

When it comes to lighting, modern led downlights were installed in main living areas, – a smart option when it comes to energy efficiency.  Feature lighting is kept to a minimum and a combination of pendant lights and wall lights were installed throughout to achieve balance. Lighting fixtures were sourced from Beacon lighting.

An original ornate feature shelf was retained in the living area and a wall light was strategically placed nearby giving the home owners a soft ambient lighting option in the space.

In the bathroom, it was a case of out with the old and in with the new – large format white tiles cover the walls from floor to ceiling and natural stone look tiles were installed on the floor. The hero of the room would have to be the freestanding bathtub that was cleverly positioned in the nook area! A fixed window pane of glass was positioned overhead near the tub, allowing natural light to flow from the open plan living space into the bathroom. Other smart features in this room include, the use of concealed floor wastes and two tiled wall niches for practicality. A concealed cistern toilet was also installed to create a modern spacious look.

Our clients selected quality tapware and plumbing fixtures and fittings from Reece.

The sitting room off the kitchen is another clever space, it’s not a large space, but it seems much bigger than it actually is. There’s an abundance of natural light flowing in through the large sliding glass doors that open up onto the new outdoor deck.

We added a new raised timber deck which was constructed of blackbutt timber decking boards. The entire area is covered so that it can be used year-round to entertain family and friends.  For added privacy, slats were installed at one end of the deck and a glass balustrade was added allowing an unobstructed view to the pool area and it also doubles as the pool fence.

When it came to the backyard pool area, there was an existing in-ground pool in place. Our team gave the backyard a modern makeover – a new block retaining wall was installed along one side and we replaced the pool surround with new travertine classic finish paving. We also constructed a new covered pool cabana with a gable roof which has created a resort style feel when you look out onto the backyard.  Once again, the homeowners have created a very welcoming space to relax and enjoy with the addition of quality outdoor furniture pieces, including two sun lounges.

The exterior of the home was painted in Dulux Antique White and the interior was repainted in a fresh white called Taubmans Crisp White. New windows on this project are all finished in Colorbond Surfmist to achieve the white on white hamptons appeal.

We are extremely proud of our team and the building contractors that were involved in this large scale renovation and extension project. The home owners were amazing to deal with and we hope that they enjoy their newly remodelled home for many years to come.
